17, 2009 BB/BS
It's official - after enjoying a wonderful evening
with Evan, Crystal, Sophia, Bella, and other members of the Tinstman clan,
we have decided to move the upcoming Church picnic to their home. Yes,
there may be a hundred or more people, but, after tonight, we are confident
they can handle it.
Well, we have finished up our 10th month with our
Littles with another very successful event. From riding bikes to fishing to
riding the paddle boat on the pond, the kids had a wonderful time. Jamie
caught her first every fish, a catfish, and was a bit distraught as to how
it looked. She had a look of amazement and horror on her face all at the
same time as she repeated again and again "...fish...fish...fish...fish..."
In the end, you could see how proud she was at what she has done.
"Thank you" Evan & Crystal - you opened your home
and shared the warmth and love. We are confident that God is using all of
our time and talents to really make a difference in the lives of our Littles;
tonight, you were a big part of that difference.
Coming up next - we will be take a break as the
next scheduled Monday is Labor Day. Our next event is September 21 - we
will be working over the next few weeks to identify themes and volunteers
for the fall season. If you have any ideas for an event, would like to
volunteer, or know someone who would, please let me know. Also, please feel
free to forward this or any email to anyone who you think may be interested
in what we are doing.
Thanks to all for your wonderful prayers and support
as we venture out into our community to make a SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE in the
lives of the children and their families.

June - BB/BS
June, another great month! We started it off by
going to Boardman Park and then to the Build-a-Bear Workshop. The kids had a
great time. Jonathan told us he has never been to a park before, and it was
the best time ever. They played games, heard a story, and built a bear. Greg
gave his bear away for Father’s Day. What a great way to show you have a caring
heart.
The second event was
Vacation Bible School. They played games, ate snacks, heard bible stories, and
made crafts. Jamie, Paul, Sandra, and Greg even brought their brothers and
sisters to the event. for the entire week. We would like to thank Sue McFarland
and all the teachers and helpers for a wonderful program each year. They do a
fantastic job.
These kids are learning
there are so many options in the world to become an outstanding adult later in
life. You can tell they do not have the opportunity to go to the many places we
take for granted. But they ALL have such kind, compassionate hearts! They are
also learning God’s Word. We do have fun, but it is important that they know we
need The Lord in our hearts. They have so much potential. We are making a
SIGNIFICANT DIFFRENCE IN THEIR LIVES, we can really see the changes.
Please feel free to inquire
about our program, or join us Monday night if you want to learn more about it or
just to have a fun evening with Christian friends.
Keep us and these precious
children in your prayers,
Mike, Bill, Amy,
Loretta, Dave

Hello everyone! Well, summer is here
and we would like to let you know what we have planned for the kids:
JULY 20, 2009: LET'S GO SEE THE BUCS!
We are planning to attend the Pirates game vs. the Milwaukee
Brewers at 7:05. I know at least a couple of the kids have never been to a
Pirate game so this should be a pretty exciting evening. We would like to
have as many people attend as possible in support of BBBS so if you are
interested in joining us , please let me know as soon as possible. Tickets
should be no more than $20/ticket.
AUGUST 3, 2009: SWIMMING WITH SANDY!
This is the event that we have all been waiting for. Sandy
hosted our Mother's Day event in May and graciously offered to host a
swimming party at her home. My kids have been swimming in Sandy's pool and
guarantee that this will be a fun filled evening. Sandy has a special
surprise for dinner. Thanks Sandy for your generosity.
AUGUST 17, 2009: PICNICKING WITH THE TINTSMANS!
... and now we are off to the Tintsmans who have graciously offered their
home for an evening of fun, food, and fellowship. Evan did a great job
hosting the scavenger hunt back in March and we are all looking forward to a
great time with Evan and his family.
AUGUST 31, 2009: TO BE ANNOUNCED
Due to the Labor Day holiday, we've decided to host
our first September event on the 5th Monday in August. We have yet to
schedule the event so for all of you creative types, if you have any ideas
of something we can do, please let us know.
Thanks to everyone for your prayers, interest, and
support. We are making a SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE in our community.
